Review for AutoNation Ford Scottsdale, Arizona

I recently purchased a top-of-the-line Ford Explorer Platinum four-wheel-drive from AutoNation Ford Scottsdale on December 6, and my experience has been less than satisfactory.

Upon arriving at the dealership, I was optimistic about finding the perfect vehicle. I explained my desired options to the salesman, but after wasting four hours looking at various cars, I realized that he lacked a fundamental knowledge of the products he was selling. Finally, I found the Explorer that met my criteria, but the process was frustrating and time-consuming.

After the purchase, I encountered several issues, including uninstalled parts that were part of the package, missing floor mats, and incomplete detailing. I expected a seamless transition after finalizing the sale, but it has now been three weeks, and I am still unable to close the contract due to ongoing communication issues at the dealership. I've reached out to multiple individuals, but the lack of coordination between the sales and service departments has made it nearly impossible to resolve these issues.

Even after confirming an appointment, I arrived to find that no service ticket had been created, which further illustrates the ongoing communication breakdown. If you're looking for a dealership that values communication, understands their products, and operates with integrity, I would not recommend AutoNation Ford Scottsdale. This experience has been disappointing, and I hope to see improvements in their sales and service department in the future.

Keeps getting better….
When your sales rep still hasn’t read the contract and thinks it’s okay to leave plastic coverings on door locks etc., glue from window stickers and still insists on a wash rather than the full detail listed in the contract. I should have known what to expect the moment I was put into a dirty vehicle that had a service light on as a “loaner”; why would they take care with my car if they can’t take care of their vehicles or at least have pride enough in their products to wash them or not “loan”, (I use that term lightly as this is on them to fulfill the new purchase agreement) them out to new customers after purchasing a new 2025 explorer.
Before I can even include photos of this loaner vehicle, let me give you another update so make sure your language is specific if you use this dealership for a new car purchase service or any other issue that may arise because there seems to be an issue with communication at this dealership. Be prepared for the semantics argument, be leery of what they write in their contracts to fulfill any new purchase.

Third update for today… Car is finished,at least to their standards. I’d hate to see what a true repair looks like if this is what a detail looks like…. And just so you’re wondering a detail with Scottsdale AutoNation Ford does not include a wax or apparently a wipe down and you might just come out with scratches on your brand new vehicle, as you can see in the last three pictures attached to this review. I will be lowering the star from two to one if you love Fords like I love Fords, if your whole family normally drives Fords, this is not the dealership for you. After this experience I question how Ford is determining who gets to be their authorized dealers because this dealer has failed on every level!!! Stay Away!

Smoothest process me and my wife have ever been through. From finding the truck to working numbers and leaving out of finance we were in and out in less than 2 hours! Nicole in finance and Tre foster in sales were outstanding. Humberto the manager also came and shook my hand before leaving. Amazing experience overall.

Absolutely the best experience with a Dealership repair I have ever had. James Hammond is so pleasant to deal with. I have had my Ford F250 Diesel in 3 times for different reasons since the first of the year. Always kept me updated on the truck and the videos from Shane Rose and Garrett Smith were a very nice touch.
Thank you all for helping me out to keep my truck on the road !

How many times can you say an auto purchase was nice? James, aka Jess, made the process super easy and stress-free. We were able to easily negotiate the price and features of the lease. In the end, I was able to get into a new Bronco that I am so happy with.

If I could give them zero stars I would. The salesman himself was a good experiment through the buying process. The nightmares stared with the finance guy. That issue was addressed by management promptly and I appreciated their response and concern. The truck was purchased with a rattle that was thought to be a broke. Exhaust hanger. Unfortunately that want the issue. After having the truck in their shop for a week they have it back with the same problems. $60,000.00 spent I go back in the next day with multi cylinder misfire on all 6 cylinders cam and crank advanced codes. I go to drop the truck for service and the sales manger tells me they’re not in the business of loaning their cars they’re for sale. Once again service was horrific after sitting there about an hour they realized u wasn’t leaving without Loaner. The next day I get a call that the trucks good to go no more issues. Don’t make it home and turn shits down truck is in limp mode. I’ve now owned this Raptor for about a month. It’s been in the shop for three weeks out of that month, it’s still in a shop with a bad ECU. To no surprise no one from the dealership will return my calls. The worst experience I have ever had an an auto dealership. Save yourself the aggravation and shop somewhere else

Update just read the review below about the finance . We had the same issue same finance manager and the bank we weee using was the same back they were trying to force us to use in house at a higher interest shorter terms higher payment. He tried to refuse to take our check for the purchase price already issued to them from our credit union. Clearly his game. We had the same sales associate too. He’s smooth until it goes bad.
Update: Per request I have contacted the dealership several times leaving messages for the to call me. Still haven’t got a call back. Someone just called me back but definitely nothing that spoke with previously. His response was that his higher ups said we can just leave it where it’s at and part relationships. 5 stars hats off to you over a couple Hundred bucks. Do yourself all a favor and avoid them.

Purchasing my vehicle here was seamless, service, not so much.

About a month ago, I called in because my Ford Maverick is having an issue with the clock showing the incorrect time and the back seat showing someone sitting in it even when they are not. I called the service center and they told me they couldn’t help me until a service tech was in the shop who would call me back. They never did.

Randomly, I was automatically scheduled for a maintenance appointment that I did not ask for. I called in to cancel the appointment and mentioned to the girl helping me that I had already asked for help with my other issue a month ago and never got a call back. After explaining it to her, she immediately said, “well you can drop it off but a diagnostic will take a minimum of 5 business days. Since it’s electrical, probably more like 10”. Just to diagnose the issue with my vehicle? Seriously? I also would not be offered a rental vehicle. Boy I really regret purchasing my service plan with you guys, who can be without their vehicle for 10 business days?

I made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I was offered FREE valet service to pick up my car from my work. The valet service was a game changer! I didn't have to leave work and the communication was excellent! My service contact was courteous and informative. Excellent customer service! I will be back!

Avoid this dealership for service and warranty repairs! I came here and needed the exhaust tips on my 24 raptor adjusted. Passenger side sat lower than the driver side so it needed to be adjusted up a bit to match. I arrived for my 9am appointment and within 10 minutes of them taking my truck back to their lead technician they brought it back out and said they couldn’t do anything and that the exhaust tips are NOT adjustable. They even recommended I take it to a muffler shop instead to have them repair it. I was told “it’s not affecting anything” and sent on my way to deal with it. Well I drove down to Bell ford straight from this dealership and without any appointment they acknowledged the issue, fixed it, personally showed me how easy it was to do, and had me in and out of there in 30 minutes. If you care about your vehicle and who works on it do NOT go here. Their lead technician can’t even adjust exhaust tips that take 10 mins to do that Bell ford fixed without question. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere.
